Breathing new life to the long disused second hall behind Hala Mirowska, the ‘Guard Hall’ is a new food market on Warsaw’s blossoming culinary scene.
This cavernous market space houses a great range of independent market stalls and eateries, with plenty of room on the sociable benches to sit down and enjoy your food.
The building has a rich history, having survived the Second World War (bullet holes can be seen on the outside walls) and hosted sports events and concerts in the intervening years – pictures of boxers gracing the ring here are hung from the walls.
But the real attraction here is the food. Cuisine from around the world is represented – from steak to oysters – and there are plenty of vegan and veggie options too.
Occasional live music and cooking displays from celebrity chefs compliment the culinary offerings. Expect this place to evolve and grow as they try different things and react to customer feedback.
Their facebook page has details of upcoming events.
Open Friday and Saturday 09:00 am to 1:00 am Sunday 10:00 am to 11:00 pm.
Nearest tram stop – Hala Mirowska
